this is a poem i wrote about watching a girl waste her life away...

Alison
It was summer in the Northland.
Just a normal teenager, she went by the name of Alison.
She went through life like a boring day at school
But she was open to the wide world that was out there for her
Like a young bird, she was ready to take flight
One day, Friend knocked on her door
Alison opened without any hesitation
Friend was nice to her unlike anyone else had been
She was joyful in every circumstance that came her way
Friend had something that Alison didn't
Then, not too long after, Love knocked on her door
Alison hesitantly opened it up halfway and looked at Him for a while
She contemplated whether or not to let Him in
She had only met Him once before
She was willing, so she opened the door to the kind man.
Soon Alison's house was full of people
She was so full of happiness she couldn't contain it, everyone noticed
She and Friend were like two peas in a pod
Nothing could ever separate their friendship
Well, nothing could ever separate their friendship until Friend left town

Shortly after, Hurt and Trouble knocked on Alison’s door
There was little hesitation, she welcomed them in
She no longer wanted Love, so she kicked Him out of her house along with her other old friends
Her life changed from good to bad, like the dramatic change of seasons
Hurt and Trouble now thrived in her life

Alison never took flight
She never considered the great opportunities she could have had
She was lifeless like movie without sound
She simply wasted her life away
Meanwhile, Love still knocked on her door everyday
